Scholarship Alumni Impact Report
Aiducation International has awarded over 2,364 merit-based high school scholarships since 2007. These scholarships went to students in Kenya and the Philippines. But where are these talents today? Are they still in their countries? Did they successfully transfer into tertiary education, the job market or became entrepreneurs? To answer these questions, we surveyed our scholarship alumni between June and August 2022.
The following overview shows, out of 2,364 scholarships, 962 are currently active (i.e. still in high school) and 1,402 are alumni (i.e. finished high school). In Kenya, Aiducation has awarded 2,154 scholarships out of which 891 are active scholars and 1,263 are alumni. In the Philippines, Aiducation has awarded a total of 210 scholarships with 71 being active scholars and 139 alumni.

The survey focused on the 1,402 Aiducation alumni. We were able to reach and get responses from 66% of our talents. Roughly 24% we couldn’t contact due to missing or outdated information, but further actions are in process. Out of the 916 survey participants, the vast majority (98%) are still residents in their home countries. 18 talents (2%) are currently studying or working abroad.

When surveying current occupation we allowed for multiple answers. This was due to the fact that some Alumni engage in several occupations. A large part of the 568 respondents (62%), are in further education. The majority of them (79.8%), are in the field of Professions & Applied Sciences. 49 of the respondents are working next to their studies - employed or self-employed. About 30% of the Alumni are currently in employment and 8% are self-employed. The remaining 92 Alumni (10%), are either unemployed, full-time housewife/-man, sick, in the army or managing the family business (paid or unpaid).

More details and further survey results can be found in the attached report (pdf).
Aiducation International would like to thank all participants of the survey for their honest feedback. We are looking forward to continuing to create more impact with you in the coming years.
