The maiden edition of GYLA Ghana’s MY JOURNEY came off last Thursday, July 30, 2020. The event which was held on Zoom saw many of the community’s members attending as the star of the month Ms. Martha Fanny Gaisie, CEO of Healthy Choice Agro Consult led members through her entrepreneurship journey.
The event was hosted by Ms. Anastasia Kulah, GYLA Ghana Coordinator. The host led an engaging session, making the speaker delve deep to share all the exciting tips and struggles of her entrepreneurship journey.
Ms. Gaisie spoke about how she raised capital for the business through personal savings, cutting down of expenses and using of available resources to cut down the startup cost. She also spoke of how her early introduction to selling where she sold kerosene and other small items the experience of which has helped her in her now growing entrepreneurship life.
In all, Ms. Gaisie advised young entrepreneurs to not give up on their dreams, to plan their actions, manage time effectively and as well make themselves available for programmes such as the Swiss Re Startup Academy which she said has been the best bootcamp she’s ever attended and would recommend it to any person interested in becoming an entrepreneur to attend.
She also added that young entrepreneurs should endeavours to have their business plans prepared and apply for funding opportunities and not give even when the applications don’t win because persistence pays.
