Tree Planting and GYLA Kenya team building activity
Environmental conservation and rehabilitation are some of the steps to solving the menace of climate change. It is also among the many ways of giving back to the community. Aiducation International through its alumni; GYLA Kenya members organized a tree planting exercise in Lenana School on 22nd October 2022. The Aidualumni team had an amazing experience interacting with the young talents(Aiducation scholars and environment club members) in Lenana School as they planted the seedlings.

Not only did the students actively participate in the tree planting activity but also got inspired by the alumni's advice in their academics as they gear towards their final exams in high school which are Scheduled for December. They are extremely thankful for the wonderful journey with Aiducation and hope to join the alumni network to continue creating impact.
We intend to support the United Nations Campaign for Individual Action in preserving a livable climate. The goal is to ensure that these tree-planting practices turn into long-lasting trees that support livelihoods, communities around our partner schools and the entire planet.
The objectives of this project include:
- To improve the local community and demonstrate climate change mitigation measures through practising tree planting activities and the involvement of our young scholars.
- Increasing tree cover will be effective in increasing vegetative cover and addressing the increasing issue.
- Additionally, this will be essential in reducing climate change and its associated impacts and promoting sustainability

Special appreciation to Miti Alliance for supporting the program by providing us with the seedlings.
GYLA Kenya Team Building at OLOOLUA NATURE TRAIL, KAREN.
The team then went to the Oloolua nature trail in Karen. This was absolutely for nature lovers! (No worries, those who are not into nature also fell in love with it somehow). Taking these walks often brings a sense of meditation and peace but when you do it with friends, it becomes a fun and extremely engaging activity. It was a breathtaking adventure walking through the winding paths. Nature has its own way of surprises and it was evident from the trail through the beautiful Mbangathi river that passes through the forest.

We also got to see the 33M cave and also the waterfall formed by the river. The calm nature with chirping birds and chattering monkeys swaying from tree to tree was really something to awe. The tall bamboo trees provided awesome shade as we rested from time to time along the trail. Truly, there was something for everyone! Some of us had a chance to do bike riding and train friends who didn’t know how to. Throughout the walk, we interacted and networked with other alumni. It is through these talks that we get to know what ventures people are into in terms of careers and life in general. We later had a sumptuous late lunch and took a group photo to mark the occasion. Most of these activities which bring GYLA members together are always educative and entertaining and so was the Oloolua Nature Trail!
Special thanks to the many alumni who turned up for the events. It was a great pleasure interacting and having fun together.
