COVID-19 UPDATE | JULY 6TH 2020 : KENYA REOPENS BORDERS FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL WITH STRONG EMPHASIS ON SAFETY GUIDELINES

​Summary of key points concerning the reopening:
1. Places of worship – phased reopening within 3 weeks for congregational worship with safety regulation guidelines : max 100 participants at each ceremony, max 1 hr for services, Sunday schools and Madrasas remain suspended, individuals allowed to attend services must be within age range 13 to 58 years and must not include persons with underlying health conditions

2. Ministry of Education to announce resumption dates for academic school year 2020 for basic and tertiary institutions until latest Tuesday 7th July 2020

3. Public transport – public transport service providers must receive certification from Government proofing that all protocols/guidelines for safety regulations have been fulfilled

4. Local air travel shall resume effective Wednesday 15th July 2020 in strict conformity with all applicable guidelines for safety regulations

5. International air travel shall resume effective 1st August 2020 in strict conformity with all applicable local and international guidelines for safety regulations

6. Ban on all social and political gatherings extended for a further 30 days
