How Old Mutual Kenya is Leading Aiducation’s Localization Charge

Published on December 9, 2025

At Aiducation International Kenya, we are reimagining how impact is created. True, sustainable change doesn’t come from imported solutions alone; it grows from local collaboration, co-creation, and shared ownership. That’s why we’ve embarked on a fundamental shift: from implementing programs for Kenyan communities to partnering with Kenyan institutions to design, lead, and own them together.

Our recent partnership with Old Mutual Kenya marks a milestone in this journey. It’s our first major step toward a localized impact model where a trusted Kenyan partner doesn’t just participate but leads.

The Impact in Numbers, Rooted in Local Leadership

When a Kenyan financial powerhouse like Old Mutual Kenya steps into the driver’s seat, impact resonates differently. Together, we designed and delivered intensive one-day workshops across three regions: Nairobi, Kisumu and in Mombasa

The Reach:

  • 800+ young talents equipped
  • 10+ Old Mutual employees as facilitators and mentors
  • 3 regions engaged with locally relevant content

The Curriculum, co-developed to reflect real Kenyan contexts:

  • Financial Literacy for navigating local economic realities
  • Career Pathways tied to Kenya’s growing industries
  • Entrepreneurship training grounded in local innovation ecosystems

Why Local Leadership Multiplies Impact
This partnership was intentionally designed as a pilot in localized co-creation. Old Mutual Kenya brought more than resources; they brought contextual insight, community trust, and a vested interest in Kenya’s future workforce.

The result? Workshops that felt less like training and more like a conversation with the industry. Content that moved from theory to practice. And inspiration that turned into immediate action.

Participant Impact Stories: Proof of Concept

Impact Insight: The locally-led delivery made empowerment personal and actionable, not abstract.

The Ripple Effect: Beyond the Workshop
The impact of this collaboration extends beyond the 800+ young talents:

  1. For Old Mutual Kenya: Employees engaged in purpose-driven facilitation, strengthening their connection to community and youth development.
  2. For Aiducation International Kenya: A validated model for future locally-led partnerships.
  3. For the Ecosystem: A demonstration that when Kenyan institutions lead, relevance, trust, and sustainability increase.

This is Only the Beginning
Our partnership with Old Mutual Kenya is more than a successful program—it’s a blueprint for the future of impact work in Kenya. We’re now actively expanding this model, seeking more Kenyan institutions ready to co-design and lead initiatives that empower youth.

We believe the most powerful solutions are already here; in Kenyan boardrooms, universities, community organizations, and financial institutions. Our role? To listen, to collaborate, to support, and to amplify.
